Super impressed with Touquet, can’t believe it’s been open for a year and I’ve only just discovered it.
Charming bistro setting, relaxed feel. It’s obvious from the first plate you’re in the hands of a classically trained French chef.
Using the best of New Zealand ingredients, this place serves up vibrant plates of deliciousness – I had a golden beetroot and sheeps cheese salad for entree (with baby salad greens and pinenuts), a perfectly slow-cooked lamb with vegetables for a main and berry profiteroles for dessert (filled with a tart berry sorbet, whipped cream, fresh blueberries and freeze dried raspberries on the side).
The chocolate and caramel tart would have been my second choice.
Couldn’t help looking at the menu (which changes often) and making a promise to return.
