Cuisine at its best

I was here with my good friend who has been to the restaurant before and raved about it. I was being treated so I was happy to go. I had no idea just delicious this experience was to be.

We arrived quite early at 7pm and there was only one other couple there at the time. By the time we left there would have been at least 7 tables, mostly couples, enjoying their evening as much as we two.

Upon being seated we wre bought water and a small dish of potatoe coroquettes with jus as complimentary. They were lovely and a nice touch. We then ordered an entre for 2 of venison terrine with shallot jam, pickles and home made bread. Delicious.

Our mains were Lamb Navarin (slow cooked lamb shoulder served with grilled veggies) for the lady and free range pork belly with green pea puree and crunchy snow peas (unfortunately no snow peas were forthcoming and no expalination as to why, I didn’t ask).

Both of these dishes were so tender there was very little cutting needed. I also ordered a side dish of rustic Touquet fries which again were delicious and I suspect they had been baked using duck fat. Scrumptious!

The menu is not vast with only 5 or 6 items in each section but what is done is done to perfection. We will return.
