This place had been on the radar for some time and we visited on a Friday evening. The place was quiet but this should not put you off.
We were seated by the window and it was a lovely evening, probably the best seat in the restaurant. The staff comprised of a couple of waiting staff plus the kitchen staff. They were very attentive and arrived with our wine order promptly while we deliberated over food selections.
The menu is was compact but had a good range to suit all tastes.
The four of us all had different starters the terrine of pork and duck liver was generous and when I asked for a second piece of toast the staff were happy to oblige. The cured salmon was well presented and delicious also. Our fellow diners thought the porcini and leek ravioli was perfectly cooked with a great accompaniment of roast hazelnut and cauliflower puree.
There was a nice break between the entrees and the mains arriving. Our eye fillers were cooked just right and the lamb Navarro was very tender as it was slow cooked with seasonal veg. We did opt for and side of polenta but it wasn’t needed really.
Do yourself a favor and check out this gem for a great experience.
